PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (CA) California experiencing a wave of AR storms

Summary: Multiple atmospheric rivers are expected to bring heavy rainfall and snow to part of California this week and into the weekend.

Today, flash flood alerts are in effect for coastal areas north and south of San Francisco, and winter storm advisories are in effect for the Sierra Nevada. Currently, streamflow at numerous sites along the central coast of California are above the 99 percentile, with many of those streams predicted to peak and exceed flood or monitor stage on Sunday or Monday.
The California Water Science Center currently has crews deployed from the following service areas: Ukiah, CA (2 crews); Redding, CA (2 crews); Santa Cruz (4 crews); and Sacramento (1 crew). Flood response by the California Water Science Center will be assessed continuously as these storms develop and as basins respond. Additional crews are planned to deploy over the next few days and into next week in response to these events. Updates will be provided during the course of this event.
