Summary: An ongoing atmospheric river event continues to bring rainfall to many parts of California this Thursday and Friday, with heavy rainfall expected on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada
Increasing streamsflow and rising stage will continue tonight for many rivers and streams in CA as an atmospheric river moves across the State. A large number Counties in CA are under an expected flash flood watch, flood alert, or winter storm watch for tonight and into tomorrow.
The California Water Science Center (CAWSC) has deployed 6 field crews today to perform high-water measurements on streams in northern CA, including locations in Sonoma and Mendocino County. Additional CAWSC field crews are expected to deploy tomorrow in parts of northern and southern CA as rivers and streams begin to peak.
