Summary: Two large storms are forecast to hit western Washington today and Friday (10/13-10/14) and then again Saturday and Sunday (10/15-10/16) bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall.

The National Weather Service is predicting two large storms hitting western Washington and western Oregon with the first storm arriving Thursday morning (today) and lingering through Friday. The second storm, a remanent of typhoon Songda will hit on Saturday afternoon to Saturday night. Both storms are predicted to bring heavy rainfall and high winds. Currently none of the major rivers are forecasted to exceed their flood stage and no major flooding is predicted. Some coastal flooding is a concern on Saturday and Saturday night due to the high wave action that is expected. Right now, most of the concern is the forcasted high winds that will likely bring down trees and power lines. Field offices are on alert status but no major flood response has been initiated.
