The USGS Caribbean Florida Water Science Center (CFWSC) completed deploying continuous water level sensors and Rapid Deployment Gages (RDGs) today in support of a FEMA mission assignment. Approximately 80 water level sensors and 3 RDGs were deployed along the east Florida coast from Miami to Jacksonville. CFWSC staff (12 teams, 26 staff) are preparing to deploy back to the east coast as soon as conditions are safe to recover water level sensors. A potential high water mark team is also preparing to deploy. Support staff in Davie, Orlando, Tampa, and Ft. Myers will assist with data processing.
Davie and Orlando offices will remain closed today and Friday.
