Summary: Heavy rain on saturated ground produces flooding in west-central Wisconsin
Flooding is occurring in west-central Wisconsin in tributaries to the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers. Rainfall totals of 2-8 inches fell Wednesday night with up to 9 inches in 48 hours.
All but 4 gages have already peaked. The remaining 4 will peak over the next few days. All streamgages are working properly. No streamgages with more than 10 years of record had peaks of record. Recurrence Intervals for affected gages are in the 10-100 yr range.
The WI WSC dispatched 2 crews Friday to make discharge measurements. Measurements may be collected over the weekend &/or early next week at gages that have not yet crested.
The NWS has been given the discharge measurement results.
