PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (WI) Flooding in WI

Date: Fri, 23 Sep 2016 08:15:33 EDT

Summary: Heavy rain on saturated ground produces flooding in west-central Wisconsin.

Flooding is occurring in west-central Wisconsin in tributaries to the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers. Rainfall totals of 2-8 inches fell Wednesday night with up to 9 inches in 48 hours.

Primary rivers affected are the LaCrosse, Kickapoo, Baraboo and Black.

All streamgages are working properly. No streamgages with more than 10 years of record had peaks of record.

The WI WSC dispatched 6 crews Thursday to make discharge measurements. Field plans for Friday include more measurements - likely 2 crews.
