    <h1>PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (HI) Tropical Storm Madeline </h1>
    <p>Date: Wed, 31 Aug 2016 22:21:20 EDT</p>
    <p>Summary: possible flooding as Tropical Storm Madeline crosses the Island of Hawaii.</p>
    <p>Hurricane Madeline has been downgraded to a tropical storm
<br>
as it moves in a westerly direction across the Island of Hawaii. 
<br>
Rainfall of 5 to 10 inches is forecast for the next 24 hours. 
<br>
As of 1600 hours Hawaii Standard time, August 31, 2016, 
<br>
heavy rain was reported at the Hilo Airport. Fair conditions were reported 
<br>
at the Kaikua-Kona Airport on the leeward (west) side of the island. 
<br>

<br>
Stream gages on the east and central part of the island are on the rise but 
<br>
not particularily high. 
<br>

<br>
No information on coastal flooding at this time.
<br>

<br>
USGS personnel are packed and ready to mobilize if warranted once airports 
<br>
on the Island are opened.
<br>

<br>
The USGS has been in contact with the County of Hawaii Civil Defense Agency, 
<br>
Hawaii County Department of Public Works and the National Weather Service.</p>
