Summary: Widespread rainfall in Central and Southern Arkansas.
Southern Arkansas has been the most impacted throughout this event. These areas have received rainfall totals over 12 inches since Tuesday. Strong storms are set to continue through the weekend.
Significant flooding has occurred in Southern Arkansas. Schools, events and businesses were cancelled for Friday due to the roads being impassible. Road closures are creating difficulty accessing our sites. With the expected rainfall measurements and samples will continue throughout the weekend.
Currently, no gages have been damaged but we have removed equipment from one site due to imminent flooding. Friday, 6 field crews made 13 discharge measurements. No measurements are planned today. We will continue to observe the weather coming into the state and make plans accordingly.
