    <h1>PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (MS) Flooding in Mississippi</h1>

    <p>Summary: Heavy rains over the past 24 hours causing extensive flooding in Mississippi</p>
    <p>Heavy overnight rains over most of the southwest part of Mississippi have caused streams to rise rapidly and many are already above flood stage, with more rain coming.
<br>

<br>
Streams in the Leaf, Bouie, Okatoma, Pearl, Homochitto, Tangipahoa, Bogue Chitto, Amite, and Black Creek basins received up to 10 inches of rain.
<br>

<br>
Currently four crews are out making discharge measurements on streams with smaller drainage areas, the larger rivers are expedited to keep rising into the weekend.
<br>

<br>
Additional staff are being deployed to flag high water marks at ungaged sites as soon as the rains let up.</p>
