Summary: Flooding remains a concern in Missouri as record setting peaks occur on the Meramec River and the Mississippi River continues to rise.
Currently there are still 21 streamgage sites above flood stage in Missouri. The Meramec River near Eureka with 97 years of continuous record set a new period of record peak yesterday evening. As the Meramec River and others are receding the Mississippi River continues to rise.
Approximately 20 streamgages have experience period of record peaks during this event.
Approximately 70 flood measurements have been made thus far. There are 11 field people out today in response to the flood. One crew is collecting water quality samples on the Meramec River.
The USGS continues to interact with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the National Weather Service and others during this event.
