Summary: Flooding continuing, impacts targeted for larger rivers
Heavy rainfall is coming to an end in Missouri. Flood Warnings continue to be in effect from southwest Missouri, through central Missouri, and up to St. Louis. Flooding impacts are expected to continue over the next several days as water moves downstream on rivers, streams, and tributaries. Many rivers are forecasted to rise above major flooding levels (NWS forecast) and possibly reach historic levels.
Currently, there are 55 gages that continue to remain above flood stage and 50 non-routine flood measurements have made thus far since Saturday evening. Thus far flooding has resulted in approximately 18 POR peaks.
Today there are 7 crews (15 people) measuring floodwater on larger rivers. We are planning to provide additional assistance on the main stem of the Mississippi later in the week.
There are (4) gages that have damage due to flooding.
