PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (MO) State of Emergency Flooding Declaration in Missouri

Summary: Widespread flooding continues in the southern half of Missouri

Flooded conditions persisting from Springfield, Missouri trending northeast to the St. Louis metro area. Storm total rainfall amounts ranging 4 to 10 inches over the past 2 days.

A total of (6) fatalities have been attributed due to flooding, approximately 9,800 customers are without power, and the major interstate I-70 remains closed (both east and westbound) in parts of St. Charles County. It is likely Interstate-44 will be closed as well today in Pulaski County.

Thus far 13 period of record peaks have been documented and (4) gages have been damaged due to flooding.

Currently 6 crews (12 personnel) are deployed for continuing flood measurements. Many gages not accessible due to water over the road, (4) manned boats (and 1 remote boat) have been deployed today to assist with access and overflow measurements.

At least 13 sites will be flagged for high-water, a media release occurred yesterday along with a TV interview.
