Summary: Statewide flooding throughout Illinois as a result of persistent precipitation
Significant flooding continues with storm totals ranging from 1 to 5 inches Statewide, with the largest totals throughout the Kaskaskia River basin.
Along this line of flooding many flashy creeks/rivers have continued to cause local damage, with a few USGS streamgages forecasted to crest at or near period-of-record peaks. Around 45 streamgages in IL are currently at or above flood stage. Currently two USGS streamgages have been damaged due to flooding.
The St Louis Corps officially opened their EOC on 12/26/15 and we are in close communication with them and the National Weather Service. Two USGS crews have been dispatched to make flood measurements and repair downed streamgages. Three more crews have been notified and will be deployed on Monday morning.
