Summary: Water levels are receding in Northern California as winter storm Ferus moves out of the region; however, winter storm Goliath is expected to bring additional rain to Northern California and up to 1-2 feet of snow to the Sierra Nevada tomorrow.
The USGS California Water Science Center has deployed 5 crews today in areas of Northern and Southern California to perform clean-up work and collect high water measurements: 3 Crews from the Santa Cruz service area and 1 crew from both the Ukiah and Poway service areas. A few sites saw peaks of record following winter storm Ferus, such as site 11173575 near Sunol CA on the central coast. No crews are planned for deployment on December 24 or 25, but offices will be on-call depending on the severity of winter storm Goliath.
