PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (WA) Continued flooding in western Washington

Summary: Minor to major flooding is occurring in river basins throughout western Washington and a few in eastern Washington; some rivers have already crested and most others are expected to crest in about the next 12 hours.

Major flooding is ongoing in the Skokomish River basin on the Olympic Peninsula, the Cowlitz River basin in southwestern Washington, and the Snoqualmie and Snohomish River basins in central western Washington. Many other river basins in western Washington and a few in eastern Washington are experiencing minor to moderate flooding.

Landslides and road closures have been reported.

Thirteen USGS teams are currently making high-flow measurements. All streamgages are operational.
