Summary: Personnel from the New England Water Science Center, Connecticut Office, deployed storm-surge sensors and rapid deployment gages in anticipation of Hurricane Joaquin.
Five crews, consisting of 10 people, were deployed along the Connecticut coast to install storm surge sensors and rapid deployment gages which will be used to monitor the potential effects of Hurricane Joaquin. Although Hurricane Joaquin is forecast to track to the east of Connecticut, the possibility of minor surge conditions continues to exist.
In total, 14 storm surge sensors, 2 wave sensors, and 3 rapid deployment gages were installed from Greenwich, CT to Stonington, CT.
