    <p>Summary: Hydrographers from the Virginia-West Virginia Water Science Center are deploying storm-tide monitors in advance of Hurricane Joaquin and responding to inland frontal flooding.</p>
    <p>The Virginia-West Virginia Water Science Center is deploying storm-tide monitors in advance of Hurricane Joaquin in the Hampton Roads area and on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.  The deployment started today and will continue through Friday, October 2nd.<br>

Staff also are responding to inland frontal flooding. Crews are making discharge measurements and collecting water-quality samples in response to NWS QPF forecast rainfall totals of 6-12 inches in central and southern Virginia. Resources from both Center States are being distributed to affected areas.<br>

Coordination of field crews is being handled by leadership in the Richmond Field Office.
