Heavy rain overnight resulted in flash flooding over a large portion of Indiana down into the northern portion of Kentucky. Flooding is occurring across primarily smaller basins within these areas with most peaks already past gaging locations by mid-day. Flood waters and mud slides have caused numerous road closures in southern IN. In KY, numerous water rescues were reported in the Louisville area along with counties to the NE.
The Indiana-Kentucky WSC Indianapolis and Louisville offices have sent out multiple crews (19 people) to make discharge measurements throughout the day. All gages are working properly at this time.
