Summary: Flooding continues in northwest Ohio
High water and flooding is persisting in northwest Ohio, however most gages have peaked out late yesterday or overnight. This event can be classified as moderate to major flooding, with the Maumee and Tiffin River basins being the most affected. Many gages experienced water up to, and into, the gagehouse, however no river gages quit operating or were destroyed.
Seven USGS crews have been dispatched today (4 crews sent out specifically to measure flow, two crews sent out for water quality and one crew sent out to do an indirect measurement) in response to this round of high water. The forecast is calling for more showers and thunderstorms today, thus these crews may stay out another night, however a drying period should begin after today's round of rain.
Contacts with the National Weather Service as well as various state cooperators is ongoing.
