Summary: Heavy rains pound northwest Ohio once again.
Deformation zone precipitation occurred in northwest Ohio Saturday and into Sunday leaving 2-4 inches of rain on already saturated soils. Toledo Ohio received over 3 inches of rain Saturday and many raingages reported closer to 4 inches of rain. The hardest hit areas have been the Tiffin, Auglaize and Maumee river basins.
Six USGS crews in total have been sent out in response to this event. Four crews are measuring streamflows, and two crews were dispatched for the specific intent of obtaining water quality samples. Communication with several National Weather Service Offices is ongoing, as well as with state cooperators.
