Summary: Heavy rains in northwest Ohio resulting in moderate flooding.
A stationary front has oscillated in northwest Ohio the past 5 days and this stationary boundary has been the focusing mechanism for persistent heavy rain. Since June 13, 2015, 6 to 8 inches of rain has fallen in northwest Ohio resulting in moderate flooding. The hardest hit river basins have been the Maumee, Auglaize and Scioto River basins.
USGS crews have been working since Monday, June 15, 2015 in response to this event. Three streamgaging and one water quality crew have been working in the field since Monday (8 to 9 personnel). We anticipate having four to five crews out tomorrow, June 18, 2015 as the area will receive more rain today and tonight.
