Summary: Minor to Moderate flooding in Central and Eastern Kentucky after a 1 day rainfall total of 2 to 3 inches.
One day rainfall totals in much of Central and Eastern Kentucky exceeded 2 to 3 inches from Interstate 65 near Bowling Green, KY and east. As the rain event switched into a snow and ice event accumulations exceeding 20 inches of snow are still laying on the ground.
Most of the flooding is effecting the following river basins: Kentucky, Licking, and Green Several sites in the Kentucky River Basin have exceeded the highest measured discharge.
Warmer temperatures into the 50s and 60s are forecasted early next week which will melt all snow within the already soaked basins.
The Indiana-Kentucky Water Science Center had deployed 7 field teams on Wednesday and 6 teams today.
