Summary: Moderate flooding on four rivers in western Washington draining the southern Cascade Range (the Snoqualmie, Puyallup, Carbon, and Nisqually Rivers). Additional moderate flooding is expected in the next few days on selected rivers draining the northern Cascade Range.
As of Tuesday, Nov. 25, 6 PM PST, four rivers in western Washington draining the southern Cascade Range (the Snoqualmie, Puyallup, Carbon, and Nisqually Rivers) are above flood stage. Flooding is moderate. The water levels in these rivers have either crested or nearly crested.
Heavy rainfall is expected to continue through Thursday, Nov. 27, but farther to the north. In the next few days, this additional rainfall may result in rivers above flood stage in western Washington draining the northern Cascade Range.
All USGS streamgages are operational and teams of Hydrologic Technicians measured flow in the Puyallup River today. Two teams of Hydrologic Technicians are scheduled to measure flow in the North Fork Stillaguamish River on Wednesday, Nov. 26. As needed, an additional team is tentatively scheduled to measure flow in the Nooksack River on Friday, Nov. 28.
