Summary: Flood threat continues as tropical storm Ana passes approximately
120 miles southwest of the Island of Kauai
Hurricane Ana has been downgraded to a tropical storm as it passes to
the southwest of the Island of Kauai. The National Weather Service
has issued a flash flood warning for the Islands of Oahu and Kauai
through 8 p.m. Rainfall totals as of 5 p.m. HST range from 2 to 9
inches but rain is expected to continue for several more hours.
USGS stream gages recorded moderate peaks (less than the average
annual peak discharge). There have been no reports of deaths
or injuries resulting from Ana.
All streamflow, crest-stage, reservoir, and rain gages are in
good working order. One field crew was deployed today to check
crest-stage gages on windward (east) Oahu.
