Summary: Moderate flooding as hurricane Ana passes approximately
150 miles southwest of the Hawaiian Islands
Hurricane Ana passed the Big Island last night causing some
local flooding on the southern part of the island.
USGS stream gages showed moderate peaks on Wailuku River and
Honolii Stream. Rainfall amounts were less than six inches.
Ana is currently south of Oahu and traveling in a northwest
direction. There have been no reports of flooding on Maui,
Molokai, Oahu or Kauai. The National Weather Service
posted a flash flood warning for all islands through Sunday.
There have been no reports of deaths or injuries resulting
from the hurricane Ana
All streamflow, crest-stage, reservoir, and rain gages are
in good working order. No field crews have been deployed
at this time.
