Summary: Overnight rains producing high flows in southeast Nebraska but greater than 7" in the greater Lincoln and Omaha area is resulting in significant flooding.
Most of the heavy precipitation fell in the greater Lincoln metro area with estimated rainfall totals over 7 inches in the last 24 hours.
4 field teams from the Lincoln Field Office and one from the North Platte Field Office of the Nebraska Water Science Center are responding to flood events. Six sites were above flood stage and two sites, Salt Creek at Greenwood and the Big Blue River at Crete are currently above flood stage. Greenwood is the fourth highest peak stage of record (61 years). Weeping Water Creek is 5th highest peak stage of record (63 years).
