PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (HI) Hurricane Iselle

Summary: Probable flooding over the Hawaiian Islands beginning Thursday, March 7, 2014

Hurricane Iselle is expected to reach the Big Island Thursday morning, March 7, 2014
bringing sustained winds and heavy rain. The storm is expected to weaken and track
to the south of Maui, Molokai, Oahu, and Kauai but has potential to produce heavy rain.
Storm surge for the Island of Hawaii is expected to be 1 to 3 feet above high tide.

PI WSC personnel spent the past three days servicing gages in anticipation of likely flooding.
The National Weather Service, Hawaii Civil Defense, and County Emergency Management Agencies
have been contacted. PI WSC personnel will respond to flooding when it is deemed safe to do so.
