Summary: Field crews busy flagging high water marks following flooding of July 21, 2014
Four field crews were deployed today to verify peak stages, flag high-water marks, and retrieve
suspended-sediment samples that automatic samplers collected during the flooding.
Peak stage was verified at Waiahole Stream above Kamehameha Highway (15294100),
Heeia Stream at Haiku Valley (16275000), Waihi Stream at Honolulu (16238500),
Waiakeakua Stream near Honolulu (16240500), and Manoa-Palolo Drainage Canal (16247100).
In addition, high-water marks were flagged at Moanalua Stream near Kaneohe (16227500),
Waiomao Stream near Honolulu (16246000), and Manoa Stream at Kanewai Field (16242500).
The current plan is to deploy crews tomorrow to verify peak stage at Punaluu Stream
near Punaluu (163010500) and Waikane Stream at Waikane (16294900) if the access roads
are open. We also will begin field surveys of the flagged high-water marks.
This is the last planned project alert notice.
