PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (HI) Flood-related activities - Oahu, Hawaii

Summary: Heavy rain resulted in flooding over the weekend on portions of Oahu, Hawaii.

Flood waters have receded at all monitoring station on the Island of Oahu but a flood watch issued
from the National Weather Service remains in effect until 6 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014.

Four field crews have been deployed to verify peak stages, flag high-water marks, and retrieve
suspended-sediment samples that automatic samplers collected during the flooding.
Priority streams for today’s field activities are Makawao Stream near Kailua (16254000),
Malaekahana Stream near near Kahuku (16310501), Oio Stream near Kahuku (16311000,
North Fork Kaukonahua Stream near Wahiawa (16200000), Kaukonahua Stream below Wahiawa Reservoir (16210200),
and Kaukonahua Stream at Waialua (16210500).

The current plan Is to deploy field crews tomorrow to verify peak stages and flag high-water marks
at Waiahole Stream above Kamehameha Highway (16294100), Waikane Stream at Waikane (16294900),
Punaluu Stream above Diversion near Punaluu (16301050), and Manoa Stream at Kanewai Field (16242500).
