Summary: Heavy rainfall over central and southern Maryland is increasing the chances of minor to moderate stream flooding in the area.
Precipitation totaling 2 to 3 inches (with an additional 1 to 2 inches forecast to fall during the remainder of the day and tonight) in central and southern Maryland is causing stream levels to rise across the area. USGS measurement of flood discharges and stream water-quality sampling is underway (six discharge crews totaling 12 personnel and six sampling crews totaling 12 personnel) across the area. Current conditions include minor localized flooding on some small streams.
