Summary: Moderate flooding is occurring or has occurred within the last 24 hours in several drainages in northern New Hampshire and Vermont.
Rapid snowmelt on Monday (04/14) followed by an inch or so of rain yesterday has led to Catagory I Flooding in the Androscoggin, Saco, Pemigewasset, Upper Connecticut, Missisquoi, and Lamoille River basins of northern New Hampshire and Vermont. Streamflows have reached annual exceedance probabilities (AEP) of 2 to 50% (i.e. 2-50 year recurrance intervals) in these basins. And news media has reported some road flooding.
One streamgage in the Androscoggin is experiencing a POR maximum (but this is a newer gage with only 5 years of record).
One (possibly two) streamgages have had stage sensing equipment destroyed.
9 technicians comprising 5 crews have been deployed during this event. Greater than 20 discharge measurements have been made so far (effort on-going) and a few minor gage problems have been fixed.
