Summary: Minor to moderate flooding is expected to occur April 15-17 in north-central NH and VT.
Seasonably warm temperatures and snowmelt have brought many rivers in north-central NH and VT near the 50% AEP. Additional snowmelt and 1-2” of rain are expected in the mountains of NH and VT through Wednesday. Currently the NWS is forecasting minor to moderate flooding in the Connecticut River, Merrimack River, and St Lawrence River basins. Most rivers are expected to peak in the 10-20% AEP range. The most significant flooding may be in central NH and VT where the NWS is predicting the Connecticut River to reach a 2-4% AEP by Wednesday morning.
No streamgages are expected to experience peak of record conditions.
