Summary: Oregon coastal and inland rivers continue to experience high water and some flooding on minor rivers and creeks.
Most rivers in Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington are running at or near bankfull levels, so it won’t take much rain to push some rivers above flood stage. River forecasts continue to show the potential for some minor flooding on a few rivers, and some creek and urban flooding are also likely Sunday evening through Monday afternoon. The NWS continues with a flood watch in NW Oregon and SW Washington.
Several sites with high flows were measured on 2/15/2014. They included McKenzie River near Vida (14162500) at 14,700 cfs, Coast Fork Willamette River at London (14152500) at 1,560 cfs, Mohawk River at Springfield (14165000) a 3,900 cfs, Mosier Creek near Mosier (14113200) at 332 cfs, Big Butte Creek near McLeod (14337500) at 1,560 cfs, Clearwater River below Mowich Creek near Toketee Falls (14314700) at 460 cfs and miscellaneous sites in the Klamath Basin.
There has been a temporary lull in the precipitation but more is expected on 2/16 and 2/17 with additional flooding forecasted.
