PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (OH) Flooding in Ohio

Summary: Floods beginning to recede from weekend rainfall

Heavy rainfall from Saturday and into Sunday have caused flooding in NW, W and Central Ohio. Hardest hit were the Blanchard, upper Miami, and upper Scioto River Basins.

The USGS Ohio WSC had 4 crews working from 12/21 to 12/23. 20 stream-flow measurements were made.

Three streamgages needed repaired or reset.

Eight stations in NW Ohio had peaks with recurrence intervals in the 10-25 year category, 3 sites were in the 25-50 year category and one site was in the 50 to 100 year interval.

More measurements are planned on the lower Scioto River on Thursday.
