PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (UT) Widespread high flows across southern Utah.

Summary: Widespread rainfall has led to high flows and flooding of some streams and rivers across southern Utah.

Widespread rainfall across the southern half of Utah has resulted in increased flows in the Virgin, San Rafael, Dirty Devil, and Price rivers. Flooding in the St. George, UT area has impacted 10 homes and inundated some streets. Several state roads have been closed due to flooding, debris flows, or landslides.

Currently, no gages are experiencing period of record peaks and no gages have been damaged or destroyed. Five crews are in field measuring flows and ensuring gages are operational. The UT Water Science Center is in contact with the Colorado Basin River Forecast Center to provide updates on streamgaging and rating adjustment activities.
