PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (OH) Flooding in Ohio

Summary: An accumulation of rainfall up to 7" throughout Ohio in the last 5 caused small stream flash floods each day and major stream to reach minor to moderate flood stages.

Flash floods occured throughout the state on Tuesday and Wednesday affecting mostly ungaged small streams.
Peak recurrence intervals were mostly less than 25 years. Some larger rivers are still rising and expected topeak tonight or tomorrow. Thre small basin streams did exceed 100 year interval and one just less than 50 year.
The Ohio WSC had 5-6 crews out each day Tuesday to Thursday and a total of 33 streamflow measurements have been made.2-3 crews are expected to be deploed tomorrow.
