PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (DC DE MD) Response to Tropical Storm Andrea

Summary: Tropical Storm Andrea brings widespread rain to Delaware, Washington, D.C., and central and eastern Maryland

The National Weather Service (NWS) has reported that many areas in
Delaware, Washington, D.C., and central and eastern Maryland have received 1 to 2 inches of rain overnight. The NWS indicates that
an additional 2 to 3 inches of rain are possible in these areas.
As of 11:00 AM EDT, six USGS crews (totaling 13 people) have been dispatched (five crews from Baltimore, MD and one crew from Dover, DE)in response to this event to measure streamflow and sample water-quality conditions. An additional two-person crew from Dover, DE is prepared to deploy later this afternoon for water-quality sampling should conditions warrant.
