PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (IN) Major flooding along the Tippecanoe River

Summary: Major flooding occurring along a reach of the Tippecanoe River today and tomorrow due to heavy localized rainfall over the weekend.

A major category flood is occurring along a reach of the Tippecanoe River from Ora to Winamac. Minor flooding is also being reported along most of the Wabash River. One gage on the Wabash is down at this time but crews are expected to repair it by the end of the day. Two crews (3 people) will be out today and Tuesday making discharge measurements at select locations. The USGS Indianapolis office will be coordinating with the National Weather Service throughout the event as needed.
