PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (IL) Flooding in IL

Date: Fri, 26 Apr 2013 07:48:09 EDT

Summary: Flooding in IL

Flooding in Illinois is subsiding. Smaller streams in IL are generally back to near normal. However, downstream reaches of larger drainages are still near flood stage-- but with forecasted dry weather, they should continue to fall. The lower Illinois River at Valley City is predicted to finally reach its crest today or tomorrow.

Currently there is one USGS crew deployed to make streamflow measurements at a streamgage along the lower Illinois River at Valley City, IL. We plan to be in 'stand-down' mode tomorrow.

Sub-Region: Midwest; Region: Central United States
