Summary: Minor to moderate flooding occuring in north western Indiana.
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring in the northwest corner of Indiana due heavy rainfall of 1 to 4 inches. Two gages are currently at or above flood stage with ten predicted to go above flood stage within 3 days. Predictions show that the Kankakee River at Shelby gage may experience a period of record peak late Friday evening.
Two crews (4 people) were deployed today and will be in place through Friday to make discharge measurements and repair gages as needed. All gages in the area are functioning properly with the exception of 05536190 which has a stage sensor problem. A crew is expected to repair this later today.
