Summary: In advance of Hurricane Sandy, the MA/RI Office of the New England Water Science Center has dispatched crews to deploy storm surge sensors and rapid deployment gages.
In advance of the landfall of Hurricane Sandy, the MA/RI Office of the New England Water Science Center has dispatched 12 hyrographers in 6 field crews to deploy 33 storm surge sensors all along the coast line in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Such locations will include Falmouth, Plymouth, Rockport, and the Cape Cod National Sea Shore.
Additionally, the office will deploy one rapid deployment gage in Rhode Island and two in Massachusetts.
