WATER RESOURCES DIVISION MEMORANDUM NO. 96.13

SUBJECT:  Programs and Plans--Deadline for the Water Resources
          Data, Water Year 1995, Reports

The time lost during the two Federal Government shutdowns has caused
problems for all aspects of our hydrologic investigative and data programs.
One short-term impact is the delay in providing approved 1995 water year
data to our customers.  Unfortunately, the shutdowns occurred during a
period when much of the data analysis and preparation of final manuscripts
and tables for the Water Resources Data reports are done.  Although we must
provide approved data to our customers as soon as possible, we cannot rush
the process because of the increased potential of distributing erroneous
data.  Accordingly, the deadline for completing the Water Resources Data,
Water Year 1995, reports is moved to June 1, 1996.

Please note that this is a one time relaxation of the deadline.  The Water
Resources Data, Water Year 1996, reports should be available by April 1,
1997.
