Flood and Drought Reserve Funds In Reply Refer To: February 6, 1991 Mail Stop 415 OFFICE OF SURFACE WATER TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 91.04 SUBJECT: Flood and Drought Reserve Funds The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you that funds may not be available in fiscal year 1991 to compensate districts for extra expenses associated with data collection and documentation related to flood and drought events. Because of severe shortages of technical support funds, the Flood and Drought Reserve account has been greatly reduced. The remaining funds were previously committed; thus, no assistance can now be offered for this year. Districts are encouraged to continue to conduct appropriate field and analytical work to document significant floods and droughts and to seek cooperative funds to cover associated costs. Within the guidelines of WRD Memorandum 87.19, the Office of Surface Water will continue to accept requests for reimbursement of flood and drought-related expenses that cannot be covered by outside sources. Reimbursement, however, will be limited to availability of such funds later in the fiscal year. Charles W. Boning Chief, Office of Surface Water
