Subject:  PUBLICATIONS--Notes on Sedimentation Activities,
                        Calendar Year 1989

Attached is a copy of the publication "Notes on Sedimentation
Activities, Calendar Year 1989."  This report is a digest of
information furnished by Federal agencies conducting sedimentation
investigations.  This report has been published at least annually
since 1946.

Descriptions of work in progress or planned are included in the
report as well as important findings, new methods, new publica-
tions, information relating to laboratory and research activities,
and other pertinent information.  The material is organized by
major drainage regions in the conterminous United States, Alaska,
Hawaii, and the Caribbean.

Districts should review the portions of the 1989 publication that
are pertinent to them, and make any changes for the 1990 calendar
year.  Copy any pages which should be updated, and make the neces-
sary changes, deletions, and/or additions to these copies.  Do not
retype the pages; this will be done at Headquarters.  Return all
updates and negative replies to the Office of Surface Water no
later than February 15, 1991.

Also attached for your information is a copy of the Proceedings of
the Bridge Scour Symposium held on October 17-19, 1989.
