Water Quality Laboratory Services Catalog for Fiscal Year 1985 In Reply Refer To: June 10, 1985 WGS-Mail Stop 412 QUALITY OF WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 85.12 Subject: PROGRAMS AND PLANS--Water Quality Laboratory Services Catalog for Fiscal Year 1985 We are pleased to belatedly forward a hard copy of the 1985 Water Quality Laboratory Services Catalog. The format has been simplified for convenience in preparing requests for analytical services, the Glossary has been expanded, and explanatory material made more specific. Lastly, the several thousand entries in the catalog have been thoroughly checked to eliminate errors. Special attention is directed to recently approved methodology permitting us to offer the following determinations which have greatly improved detection limits: 1. Anions, bromide, chloride, fluoride, orthophosphate and sulfate, ion-exchange chromatographic, low-ionic strength waters, reporting level 0.01 mg/L, Schedule 0520. 2. Metals, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, manganese, nickel, thallium and zinc, atomic absorption spectrometric, graphite furnace, reporting level 0.2 ug/L, Lab Codes 1250-57 and 492. 3. Alumium and boron, atomic emission spectrometric dc plasma, reporting level 10 ug/L, Lab Codes 1265 and 1183. The new catalog should be placed in the white binder previously furnished, using the dividers forwarded with the catalog. If a new binder is needed, it may be requested from either the Atlanta or Denver Laboratory. Suggestions for improvements to the catalog are always welcome. Herman R.
