Subject:  PROGRAMS AND PLANS--Water Quality Laboratory
          Services Catalog for Fiscal Year 1984

Attached is a copy of the 1984 Water Quality Laboratory
Services Catalog.  The delay in furnishing a new catalog is
the result of extensive revision and a printing backlog.  We
trust that the reorganized introductory material and
instructions will make it easier for you to plan your work,
create schedules, and request analyses.

The catalog should be placed in the white binder previously
furnished, using the dividers forwarded with the catalog... A
limited number of new binders are available upon request from
either.central laboratory.

Some price reductions have been effected since WRD Memorandum
83.60 was issued, and the adjusted costs for analyses appear
in the catalog.  Advances in technology will permit further
price reductions in FY 1985.

Many hours were spent verifying Chemical Abstract Services
numbers and names of the organic compounds listed in
Section 6 of the catalog.  This too, should be of benefit,
especially in evaluating data.

Your suggestions for further improvements to the catalog are
always welcome and should be addressed to Herman Feltz,
