In Reply Refer To: May 6, 1982 EGS-Mail Stop 412 QUALITY OF WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 82.13 Subject: PUBLICATIONS--A Supplement to Methods for the Determination of Inorganic Substances in Water and Fluvial Sediments. The subject publication, Open-File Report 82-272, supplements TWRI Book 5, Chapter A1 (1979). It contains new methods and revisions of selected methods procedures that are approved by the Water Resources Division for the analysis of water and fluvial sediments for inorganic substances. A copy is attached for your use. Because of the expanding interest in the analysis of metals in aquatic systems, the new introductory material on atomic emission spectrometry preceding the Inductively Coupled Plasma method should be of special interest. It provides a concise description of the theory and application of emission spectroscopy. R. J.
