QUALITY OF WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 82.02

Subject: WATER QUALITY--Determination of physical properties 
                        of soils

The Central Laboratory Advisory Committee recently 
recommended that the Central Laboratories System no longer 
perform the measurement of physical properties of soils. 
Therefore, this service, with the exception of cation 
exchange capacity (LC 0441), will be discontinued 
immediately. Information on how to obtain analyses of other 
physical properties of soils can be obtained by contacting 
the Ground Water Branch. Size analyses of sediment samples 
will continue to be done by the 11 District sediment 
laboratories currently providing that service and will not be 
performed by the Central Laboratories.
