Subject: PROGRAMS & PLANS--Water Quality File Parameter Codes

Periodically new parameter codes are requested and added to the 
WATSTORE parameter code list. Some recent additions that are 
available for use are:

00074 Light transmission, 1 meter pathlength (percent)

00098 Sampling depth (meters)

39389 Endosulfane, total in bottom material, dry wt
      (ug/kg)

70969 Battery voltage

70971 Light, attenuation coefficient (alpha/meter)

81028 Ground water withdrawal (millions of gallons per day)

81029 Snow temperature (deg C)

To aid WATSTORE users in keeping abreast of changes in parameter 
codes, the Automatic Data Section has recently added to the 
program library a procedure (QPARM) for listing the WATSTORE 
parameter codes. Users can obtain updated listings at their 
convenience by submitting the following JCL statements through 
their local terminal.

A typical listing will produce about 3100 print records and cost 
$15 on a class B run. It will actually include two lists--one in 
alphabetic order and the other in numeric order. The alphabetical 
order listing is further subdivided into sections such as 
physical, inorganic, oganic, pesticides, etc.

The WATSTORE Users Guide will be updated in the near future to 
include a discussion of the cataloged procedure named QPARM.
