Lium The subject provisional method for adenosine triphosphate (ATP), modified from the methods of Allen (1973) and Holm- Hansen (1973), is attached. The Hydrobiological Section of the Atlanta Central Laboratory will accept samples for determination of ATP beginning September 1, 1975. A limited number of samples can be processed now by special arrangement with Don Leifeste, Chief of the Atlanta Laboratory. The analytical cost for the ATP determination is $15.00 per sample and includes the cost of the necessary field kit. The Central Laboratory code for ATP is 616. A parameter code for storing analytical data in the WRD and STORET systems has been requested. Attached also for your information is a detailed set of instructions for field collection of samples for ATP determination. A copy of the instructions will be included in each field kit supplied by the Atlanta Laboratory. Questions or comments pertaining to the provisional method should be directed to the Chief, Quality of Water Branch (Mail Stop 412, Reston, Virginia). Quality of Water Branch Technical Memorandum No. 75.23 transmitted a briefing paper that explains more fully the application of the method.
